A cultura caipira sob as águas : impactos culturais da construção do reservatório da UHE - Paraibuna

Abstract

Resumo: Esse trabalho tem como objetivo realizar levantamento e caracterizar o patrimônio imaterial da área de influência do reservatório da Usina Hidrelétrica (UHE) Paraibuna. A construção da barragem da represa dos rios Paraibuna – Paraitinga em 1974 pela CESP (Companhia Energética de São Paulo) implicou na inundação de terras cultivadas e na fragmentação espacial, isolamento geográfico e, consequentemente, impôs necessidade de reestruturação dos estabelecimentos humanos, que por sua vez implicou alterações no modo de viver e incorporações nas formas de convívio com o lugar e comportamentos. Seus impactos são até hoje vivenciados no cotidiano das famílias e em suas expressões. As referências espaciais na zona rural foram muito modificadas devido à configuração do lago. A obtenção dos dados foi realizada por meio de pesquisa de campo com a utilização de um roteiro de entrevista semiestruturada e aplicada por amostragem num recorte territorial. A amostragem foi não probabilística e a pesquisa de ordem qualitativa. O alvo de estudo focou os aspectos imateriais como: práticas e domínios da vida social que se manifestam em saberes, ofícios e modo de fazer; celebrações; formas de expressão cênicas, plásticas, musicais ou lúdicas; e nos lugares que abrigam práticas culturais coletivas como mercado, feiras e santuários. O resultado conquistado por esse trabalho foi a reunião de elementos que possibilitaram a caracterização do estado atual das típicas manifestações do Patrimônio Imaterial da área de influência direta do reservatório da UHE Paraibuna. Trata-se de uma contribuição para o desenvolvimento de políticas interacionistas que protejam o patrimônio cultural e imaterial da região, assim como o fomento para uma política de turismo e incentivo cultural a ser gerada pelos municípios afetados pela represa.

Abstract: This study aims to survey and characterize the immaterial patrimony of the influence area of the reservoir of Paraibuna Power Plant. The construction of the dam on Paraibuna and Paraitinga rivers, in 1974 by CESP (Companhia Energetica de Sao Paulo) involved the flooding of cultivated land, spatial fragmentation, geographic isolation and, consequently, imposes the need for restructuring human habitations, implying changes in live mode and behavior. Its impacts are so far experienced in the daily life of families and in their expressions. Spatial references in the countryside were modified due to the reservoir setting. The data basis was obtained through on field research and using a semi-structured interview guide and applied by sampling a territorial piece. The sampling was non-probabilistic and the research of the qualitative order. The target of this study was the immaterial aspects: practices and forms of social life that manifest themselves in knowledge, homemade and way of doing, celebrations, scenic expressions forms, plastic, musical and ludic, and places that shelter collective cultural practices, like a markets and sanctuaries. The results obtained was the join of elements that enabled the characterization of the current state of the typical manifestations immaterial patrimony in direct influence area of the Paraibuna reservoir. It is a contribution to the development of interactionists policies that protect the cultural and intangible heritage of the region, and stimulating for a tourism policy and cultural incentive to be generated by the municipalities affected by the dam.
