A pontuação e os efeitos de sentido : um estudo sob o viés Bakhtiniano

Abstract

Resumo: A presente pesquisa objetiva problematizar a ação dinâmica dos sinais de pontuação no texto midiático impresso, neste aspecto, discutir a pertinência deste conteúdo para a constituição de sentidos. Em consonância com tais colocações, esse estudo almeja mostrar uma abordagem produtiva para o ensino e aprendizagem da pontuação, diferenciando das colocações prescritivas, de ordem sintática, encontradas em livros didáticos e manuais de gramática. Dessa forma, este trabalho também contribui para o campo investigativo da Lingüística Aplicada, introduzindo maior flexibilidade e alterando a maneira de se olhar o processo de ensino e aprendizagem dos sinais de pontuação. O referencial teórico-metodológico dessa investigação tem como aporte os pressupostos bakhtinianos, principalmente a dialogia constitutiva enunciativa, tais como: ethos e heterogeneidade discursiva. Neste arcabouço teórico, recorremos principalmente à concepção barktiniana de linguagem, da qual utilizamos os conceitos de enunciado e dialogismo. Segundo esta pesquisa, a constituição dialógica se dá no diálogo entre o locutor; além disso, há também a inclusão de outras vozes na enunciação, causando desdobramento no discurso. Para efeito de análise, utilizamos um corpus constituído de quatro artigos de opinião de dois colunistas do jornal Folha de S. Paulo, no período correspondente ao segundo semestre de 2007 e primeiro semestre de 2008. Ao analisar os artigos, procuramos discorrer, por meio das marcas lingüístico-discursivas, as possibilidades de intercâmbio e também mudanças de posicionamento de determinadas pontuações, considerando os efeitos desta interação. Especificamente nesta análise, discutimos o emprego das vírgulas e dos parênteses, sendo considerados marcas relevantes na constituição dos sentidos. Como resultado, observamos que a ação dos sinais de pontuação contribui para revelar traços de subjetividade, bem como a dialogia constitutiva da linguagem. Sob outra perspectiva, tal análise expões possibilidades de intercâmbio entre pontuações, visto que essas traças e também ausências podem modificar os sentidos. Vislumbramos, a partir destas reflexões, contribuir para utilização didática mais consistente sobre o emprego da pontuação, levando docentes e futuros docentes à compreensão mais aprofundada e crítica desse tema em textos do cotidiano.

Abstract: The present research aims to bring to discussion the dynamic action of the punctuation marks in the text mediatic printed; in this aspect, to discuss the pertinence of this content to the constitution of senses. In consonance with these placements, this study aims to show a productive approach to the teaching and learning of the punctuation, differentiating the prescriptive placements, of syntactic order, found in didactic books and manuals of grammar. Thus, this work also contributes to the investigative field of Applied Linguistics, introducing greater flexibility and changing the way to look at the process of teaching and learning of the punctuation marks. The referential theoretical-methodological of this investigation has as apport Bakhtin's principles, mainly the constituent dialogism of the language; beyond some concepts of discourse analysis, in what they contribute for enunciative perspective, such as: ethos and discursive heterogeneity. In this theoretical framework, we resort principally to the bakhtinian conception of language, in which we use the concepts of enunciation and dialogism. According to this perspective, the dialogical constitution occurs in the dialogue between speaker and interlocutor; in addition, there is also the inclusion of other voices in the enunciation, causing unfoldings in the discourse. For effect of analysis, we used a corpus consisting of four newspaper articles of two contributors of the Folha de S. Paulo newspaper, in the period corresponding to the second half of 2007 and first half of 2008. In analyzing the articles, we try to discuss, by means of the linguistic-discursive marks, the possibilities for interchange and also changes of positioning of determined punctuations, considering the effects of this interaction. Specifically in this analysis, we discuss the use of commas and brackets, being considered relevant marks in the constitution of the senses. As a result, we observe that the action of the punctuation marks contributes to reveal traces of subjectivity and dialogue constitutive of language. From another perspective, this analysis shows possibility of interchanging of punctuations, and as these changes and also absences can modify the senses. We glimpse, from these reflections, to contribute for the didactic utilization more consistent about the employment of the punctuation, leading teachers and future teachers to the deeper and critical comprehension of this theme in texts of the quotidian.
