Proposta de leitura da linguagem verbo-visual de gêneros da esfera de divulgação científica

Abstract

Resumo: As inúmeras descobertas científicas e os avanços tecnológicos foram responsáveis por grandes mudanças ocorridas na sociedade. Esses avanços do último século nos impactaram fortemente e nos levam a mudanças nas diferentes esferas de produção, circulação e recepção do conhecimento. A aproximação dos conhecimentos científicos ocorre por meio dos enunciados concretos de divulgação científica. Tendo em vista esse contexto de divulgação/popularização da ciência e a necessidade de realizar na escola um trabalho considerando as múltiplas linguagens e as práticas de letramentos, identifiquei a necessidade de contribuir com sugestões para os professores realizarem um trabalho de leitura dos gêneros da esfera de divulgação científica, uma vez que a abordagem trazida por alguns livros didáticos não contempla a dimensão verbo-visual do enunciado de divulgação científica e não trazem assuntos atuais e do cotidiano do aluno. O objetivo geral desta pesquisa é apresentar uma proposta de leitura para auxiliar professores no trabalho com gêneros da esfera de divulgação científica, considerando a dimensão verbo-visual, as múltiplas linguagens por meio de temas atuais relacionados à saúde. Os objetivos específicos desta pesquisa são: 1) caracterizar a esfera de divulgação científica; e 2) analisar a linguagem verbo-visual de 5 enunciados concretos de divulgação científica como proposta de leitura. Teoricamente, esta pesquisa se fundamenta no conceito bakhtiniano de gênero discursivo, na concepção sociocognitiva de leitura e em estudos sobre enunciados de divulgação científica e estudos sobre a dimensão verbo-visual. A metodologia da pesquisa é qualitativo-interpretativa, com base na fundamentação teórica. Para cumprir essa proposta foram selecionados 5 enunciados concretos da divulgação científica que circulam em locais diversos, e que tratam sobre saúde de modo que a circulação, o estilo composicional, a linguagem utilizada e as especificidades foram discutidos. Ensinar ao aluno a leitura de enunciados de divulgação científica é muito importante; no entanto, faz-se necessário subsidiar o trabalho do professor quanto à compreensão da esfera de divulgação científica, para que este possa auxiliar os alunos. Os resultados mostraram que a dimensão verbo-visual está muito presente nos diversos gêneros da esfera de divulgação científica, a imagem e a dimensão linguística escrita estão articuladas e auxiliam na proposta de ensinar e esclarecer a população. Conclui-se que os enunciados analisados têm como proposta o ensinamento/esclarecimento à população e que a dimensão verbo-visual tem papel de extrema importância para subsidiar a compreensão do leitor e a circulação da ciência.

Abstract: The countless scientific discoveries and the technological advances were responsible for considerable changes in the society. Those advances from the last century have caused strongly impact on us leading to changes in the different spheres of production, accessibility and acquisition of knowledge. The contact to scientific knowledge occurs through the concrete utterances from scientific diffusion. In view of that context of science promotion/diffusion and the need of working with the multiple discourses and literacy practices in the school, I noticed the necessity of contributing with suggestions for teachers to work with the reading skills of the genres from the scientific diffusion sphere, once the approach of some textbooks does not contemplate the utterance verbal and visual dimensions found in the scientific diffusion and does not assure current concerns from the student's daily life. The general objective of this thesis is to present a reading proposal providing the teachers with a support for working the genres from the scientific diffusion, regarding the verbal and visual dimensions, the multiple discourses in current health concerns. The specific objectives of this thesis are: 1) characterize the sphere of scientific diffusion; 2) analyze the verbal and visual languages of five concrete utterances of the scientific diffusion as a reading proposal. In theory, this thesis is based on Bakhtin's concept of discursive genre, on the social cognitive theory conception for reading skills, studies concerning the utterances of scientific diffusion and the verbal and visual dimensions. The methodology of this thesis is qualitative-interpretative based on theoretical foundations. To accomplish the proposal of this dissertation, five concrete utterances from scientific diffusion have been selected from varied places referring to health issues, so that the accessibility, the writing style, the language employed and the specificities were discussed. Helping the student to improve skills of reading utterances from scientific diffusion is something very important; although it is also necessary to assist the teacher on this task, as for the comprehension of the scientific diffusion sphere, so that he could be able to support the students. The results showed that the verbal and visual dimensions can be found in a wide range of genres from the scientific diffusion sphere, the image and the written linguistic dimension are articulated and contribute with the proposal of teaching and informing the population. It was concluded that the analyzed utterances have the proposal of teaching/informing the population and that the verbal and visual dimensions have the great importance to support the reader's comprehension and the diffusion of science.
