O real e a inflação : uma análise da política monetária brasileira a partir da criação do plano real

Abstract

Resumo: O presente trabalho tem como objetivo a análise das políticas monetárias utilizadas pelo Banco Central a partir da criação do Plano Real no controle da inflação no Brasil a fim de compreender a relação entre a inflação, poder de compra e o bem-estar da população e especificamente o estudo dos instrumentos utilizados para o controle da inflação. Para tanto, pauta-se numa metodologia de revisão bibliográfica e de análise das atas, resoluções e outros documentos publicados pelo Estado, iniciando-se o estudo nas razões que levaram a concepção do Plano Real e em seguida a análise da moeda brasileira a partir de 1994 a 2020, dividindo a análise em recortes temporais para melhor compreensão do comportamento do real.

Abstract: The present study aims to analyze the monetary policies adopted by the Central Bank since the conception of the so-called Plano Real to control inflation in Brazil hoping to understand the relationship between inflation, acquisition power and the population welfare and specifically the instruments used to control the inflation. To do so, the methodology used in this study was to review the literature on the matter, as well as notes and other juridical documents published by the State, starting the study in the reasons behind the Plano Real creation, followed by the analysis of the Brazilian currency starting in 1994 until 2020, dividing the analysis in temporal clippings to better understand the behavior of the Brazilian currency.
